To meet the goals of the Paris Agreement and the Dutch Coalition Agreement and to contribute to a sustainable future for the industry in The Netherlands, the Dutch Government aims to facilitate the energy transition of the 10-20 largest industrial greenhouse gas emitters in the Netherlands with a tailor-made approach.The aim of the tailor-made approach is to support these companies, based on mutual commitments, in order to achieve additional CO2 reduction before 2030 , promote a sustainable future in the Netherlands for companies signing up to the tailor-made approach and to contribute to other benefits for society in the Netherlands. This assignment is primarily intended to support decision making in the second phase of the tailor-made approach. Before formally committing to providing such support the Dutch government seeks a reasonable level of comfort that the investments are long term beneficial for society.
